On a cold, grey February weekend my sister, cousin Steph and I headed out from the cities on a weekend roadtrip to Two Harbors, my hometown. We were off to enjoy a cousin's weekend at my Cousin Amanda's along with my other cousin Jeska. Growing up my cousins and I were all close in age. We spent Monday's at my grandma's house in the summer running through the grass barefoot, filling our plastic cups full of raspberries from my grandma's garden and smashing them down to mix with sugar.
I am incredibly lucky for my cousin clan. They are my best friends and I love them dearly. We watched old home videos (once we found a working VHS player), perused old photos and albums, watched movies and snacked on gushers and licorice. We went swimming at my parent's condo and celebrated Amanda's birthday with strawberry shortcake. We took selfies in the mirror with my Grandma Olive. It was a wonderful weekend, as always. Hopefully we can make it an annual tradition.
