Leah and Paul live in a beautiful Twin Cities neighborhood adorned in gardens, overlooking a park, where each lawn sports a cat wandering casually or lounging in the sun. They enjoy traveling together, playing games, cooking and when alone, their hobbies such as legos, sewing, jewelry, video games, reading, skateboarding...the list goes on.
And they are looking to expand their beautiful life to include adoption. I recently learned that adoption can be a much different process than it used to be. Often couples come to adopt through self-promotion or word of mouth. Increasingly couples need to "market" themselves to help aid their adoption. It was such an awesome experience to help Leah and Paul on their journey by documenting a slice of their life to show to potential birth mothers.
This can be a difficult process. One in where your lives are exposed, where you feel vulnerable and unsure of where you are in the process and yet wholly determined, excited. This is an incredible journey to parenthood and I know Leah and Paul will make amazing parents. They are loving, quick to laugh, ambitious, creative and cultured. They love spending time with each other, with their hobbies and with their friends and family.
I was privileged to be welcomed into their home, where art and travel momentos adorn the walls, crafts and pictures overflow, where sun filters in through ornate windows creating a warm calm and an entire wall is dedicated to books from interest to pleasure. It is my hope that this step in their journey will reach the right hands and bring them closer to expanding their family. Please share to help their story reach a wider audience and make their dream come true.
